Ecluse de Menazen

Ecluse de Menazen
27cm x 19cm. 10.5 in x 7.5in.
Oil on stretched canvas
The Blavet River wanders through tree-laden valleys with the occasional lock keepers cottage along the towpath. This one has a little shed behind it, which opens as a bar in the summer. Tables under the shade of the tall cypress tree provide a very pleasant way to spend an early evening after a good walk.
I have just spent the afternoon working towards a new portrait of a Uilleann piper called Dicky Deegan. I shall blog about him on the Muddy Red Shoes, try and put some of his music there as well and link to his new blog (as I also “spread the word” of blog and thus he is now creating his own blog.) The music is fantastic and goes so well with this part of the world. If you would like to know more travel to the Muddy Red Shoes in a couple of hours and read all about it!
