Old Path, Hot Day

Old Path, Hot Day.

This old path rises up from Helford village, through ancient woods.  It once was a cart track connecting the farms and villages to the river and the sea.  A busy thoroughfare no doubt allowing access, via boat, to the port of Falmouth and then the world.  Now it is a footpath affording a green dappled shade, a jungle of leaves and birdsong, welcome relief on a hot day.

These sketches are available as prints. For more information see earlier work, scroll down. Or email for details.

absolutely lovely and reminds me so much of similar paths near King Harry's Reach - somewhere to revisit when the bluebells are out?

Very nice - there's nothing like a bit of red in all that green!

Beautiful; always a pleasing/compelling subject. I love the lightness in the overhanging foliage; it really does give the impression of hot sunlight!
