I love these thick woods that pour down the sides of the valley into the river, delicious deep rich greens, almost black at times. At low tide the exposed roots of the old oak trees seem to dabble into the estuary mud, like gnarled fingers, making little rivulets of water that trickle into the remaining river, breaking the reflections. Deep blue shadow turns to pink-grey while the river ribbon holds deep greens and peaty browns.
