Watercolour
40cm x 50cm or 16 inches x 20 inches
Very early morning at the mouth of the Helford River. Under the veil of mist and low cloud, the water is broken into tiny shards of new light by just a breath of air, more like a sigh than a breeze. Birds are quiet too, just the occasional cry of an oyster catcher. The light is like silver, a fine thin silver sheen over everything.

Amazing clouds and water color, depth!
This is spectacularly gorgeous. I can feel the air. Great job!! One of your best!
I love everything about this! It is great
What I like so much about your work is your confidence!
Sarah, this is sublime-- those clouds and the way the colors blend,
throughout the painting... the mauve wash in the water... and the motion of the waves in the foreground...

This woods and water series just makes me swoon. You are so good, my dear. I can hear the birds in those trees, and I can feel the water on my ankles. What a gift you have.
Your watercolours are beauties - very impressive control over the full frontal sun - an effect I've often tried to reproduce myself.
I think watercolours are the height of the craft of painting and yours are very tasty.
Absolutely beautiful.
