A Sunday Outing

A Sunday Outing
Watercolour and Pen
Moleskine Sketchbook

This should be called "There are no dry clothes in the car Jim!" as that is what she was shouting at him as the child got soaked.
I love people watching on the beach, after a long winter there are more family's going to the beach for a Sunday outing.  They are still bundled up against the cold but spring is on the way, hooray!

Shore Fishing

Shore Fishing   SOLD
Oil on Wooden Panel
10cm x 40cm or 4in x 16in

Low tide, a mist of salt spray obscures some of the cliff.  A lone fisherman fixes his line, otherwise the beach is empty, a few footprints on the smooth sand describe his movements.

I have found, at last, a surface that I enjoy painting on, these wooden panels seem to be very well made and, after priming and sanding, take the paint beautifully.  This is where I get them.
And here is a detail of the painting showing the fisherman hunched against the cold, salty wind.

Sheltering In The Bay

Sheltering In The Bay
Moleskine Sketchbook
Watercolour and Pen

Spring seems to be here.  This morning here the sky was clear, the boats in the bay had their heads to the wind.  Sheltering from storms that have now gone.  Calm after the storm.  Spring is here, daffodils are up.  Oh joy!  Breathe easy after the winter.
