Last Bit Of Golden Sun

Oil on board

20cm x 16 cm
About 4.30 ish this afternoon, sat far too long, got far too cold, as the sun dipped away all the colours changed but the far cliff stayed golden for ages. It is difficult this painting on the spot thing, I am struggling for my art! It doesn't always work, I had to do a bit of tonking here before it came together, and then only just.

I really love your paintings of Sennen to Mill Bay, the dark cliffs, and in one of them the rather sublime edge of sea and sky - the spirit of Cornwall. Very unfair that you didn't get into the St Ives Society - what criteria do the panel use?!
