Night Lights

Oil on board 15 x 20 cm
About 3.30 am, quite cloudy, the moon kept hiding.  It is always interesting to see what has been painted when getting back into the light.  The sea is very noisy when there is no other noise around.  I used to live at the top of this slipway and the sound of the waves on the shingle took me right back.

That is JUST how the evening feels, Sarah... You have brought it all back to me... As a child I would go out with the dog along the Connecticut coast for walks in the surf. They had the old moaning foghorns, then, and the walks were glorious under that half-hidden moon.

Beautiful painting.
I looked at the clouds playing with the moon last night, so peaceful. All that I missed was hearing the waves.
